Melbourne forum: Australia day, Blueberry and strawberry picking - TripAdvisor
If you are heading to the west, out Geelong way, there is blueberry picking on the way to St Leonards (Tuckerberry Hill). It's not a very big farm and it is a bit of a detour, but Geelong is nice when you drive through on The Esplanade and there is always something on Australia Day. There is also strawberry picking in nearby wallington. Both about 90 minutes from Melbourne. You could do both then head to picturesque Queenscliffe or Ocean Grove for a day at the beach.
Wherever you go to pick, ring beforehand to check out how much fruit is available; often it's all picked out. And make sure you have insect repellent , or the mosquitos will get you !
