INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHT OF THE DAY: “We are ONE within a Great Love.” - LG
Staying next to the Grand Mosque in Medan meant that we would definitely not be sleeping in or missing our bus to the ferry dock! The chanting began at 5:00 am. It sounds absolutely beautiful but boy is it early and very loud!
The bus ride from Medan to Belowan was quite lovely and the first non-smoking bus that we have ever taken in Indonesia! The ferry was not full and once we left the dock I went outside on deck while Linda laid down to try to catch a nap. The ride took six hours but the time seemed to go relatively quickly.
Back in Penang we cleared immigration without any problems, then grabbed a rickshaw in front of the port and were whisked away to the 75 Travelers Lodge where we had stayed previously while in Penang.
When we arrived there was our friend Jimmy who had kept two rooms for us and Peter and Edith. We went to our room and dropped off our luggage, then took to the street for find some of our favorite Indian cuisine. We had a wonderful dinner and headed back to the room for some much needed sleep!
I met the writer when I was in Medan last year. I just remembered one of their name..Linda because I talked to her. At that time I was shopping for a milk and some snacks. The mall is just next to the Medan Grand Mosque.and my hotel is just few meters from the mosque. It is convenient. These two writers (photographers) also stayed in the same area, but different hotel. Because it was my last day in Medan so I didnt have much time to have chat with them. By the way I found their website through a little note she left for me. I just found it tonite so I clicked and i read their journey. It is so awesome. They traveled around Asia. Cool. I put one of their writings here. Enjoy it!
