ban babies at work

Mums condemn Sarah Hanson-Young for taking baby into Senate | National News | News.com.au
MUMS have condemned a senator for taking her toddler into Parliament, but employers have been warned they could face legal action if they refuse parents who need to bring their children to work occasionally.

Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young's two-year-old child Kora was carried screaming from the Senate chamber on Thursday after she was ordered out during a division vote.

Yesterday the 27-year-old senator denied taking her daughter into the chamber was a stunt, saying she previously took Kora into the chamber, The Daily Telegraph reports.

"I'd just like anyone suggesting that ... to reflect on what actually happened," she told ABC TV.

Later, as she and her daughter left Canberra bound for her Adelaide home, she said: "We're going to spend a nice weekend before coming back for another busy week."
