The deadly mutant E.coli outbreak could last for months, health officials warned yesterday as new cases were confirmed in Britain.
Hundreds of people have been infected by the epidemic in the last few days, including four new cases in Britain.
The latest victims mean 11 people in the UK have been diagnosed with the infection, including four German nationals, and three remain in intensive care after developing a potentially lethal form of the infection.

male model Andrej Pejic as 98th sexiest woman of FHM
The waves that Andrej Pejic has been sending through the fashion world ever since he started modelling women's clothes are about to go tidal.
The male model has been voted into 98th place on FHM's list of the world's sexiest women.
But it seems that the magazine does not agree with its readers who voted for the model - or perhaps those who chose Pejic were hoping for a chauvinist reaction?
'Designers are hailing him as the next big thing,' FHM reads. 'We think "thing" is quite accurate.'
Pejic's blurb also says: 'The gender bender has jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria's Secret Model (pass the sick bucket).'
FHM's writer goes on to imply that Pejic has been trying to hide his gender, before adding: 'More troubling is the fact that Andrej is not the only one when it comes to supermodels that are not all they seem.'
The outrage caused by these comments sparked FHM to remove the entry from its website. But the entry is still running in the print version of the list which comes with this month's edition.
A spokesperson for FHM told the Telegraph: 'Andrej Pejic appears at number 98 in FHM Magazine's 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011.Pejic, who was raised in Australia, was discovered while working in McDonalds.
He says he is happy to model both men's and womenswear and aspires one day to appear in Playboy.
In an interview earlier this year, Pejic said: 'Sometimes I feel like more of a woman, other times I feel male

Mobile phones can increase cancer risk (Menurut WHO, ponsel menyebabkan tumor otak)
: Shock finding by major study | Mail Online
Mobile phone users may be putting themselves at higher risk of cancer, a major new study has confirmed.
The World Health Organisation-funded study has found that microwave radiation from mobile phones can increase the risk of brain tumours.
The agency has now listed mobile phone as a 'carcinogenic hazard', alongside lead, engine exhaust fumes and chloroform.
Before its announcement today, the WHO had assured people that no ill-effects had been established.
A team of 31 scientists from 14 countries made the decision after reviewing peer-reviewed studies on mobile phone safety.
The team found evidence that personal exposure was 'possibly carcinogenic to humans.'
This means that there is not enough long-term evidence to conclude if radiation from mobile phones is safe, but there is enough data to show a possible connection to tumours.
Mobile phones emit a kind of radiation known as non-ionising. It has been compared to a very low powered microwave oven.

The vitamin-aholics
When Lauren Allchurch woke up last Thursday, she didn’t have time for breakfast. Instead, she rushed to work, ate a few boiled sweets, then at lunchtime had a ham salad sandwich with a cup-a-Soup and a packet of crisps.
When her energy slumped in the afternoon, she scoffed a chocolate bar then, in the evening, she ate a Thai curry and finished off one of her Easter eggs. Lauren, a 28-year-old PR from Swansea, admits that her diet is terrible. ‘I eat far too much chocolate, but I love it,’ she says.
Yet, far from being malnourished and unhealthy, Lauren, who plays netball and goes running at least twice a week, has taken only two days off sick in the past five years. Her secret? Lauren believes it is the hundreds of vitamins and supplements that she has consumed over the past five years.
