The case of greatest concern is that of Latin America, where 24 journalists have been killed to date in 2010, followed by Asia with 14 and Africa with nine. The PEC noted that Mexico is the country where the profession of journalism would seems to incur the most risk, with an all time high for this year of nine media workers; followed by Honduras with eight; Pakistan with six; and Nigeria and the Philippines with four each, while in Russia and Colombia, three journalists have been murdered. The number of victims, the NGO notes, is growing, as shown by this year's data and the record total in 2009 of 122 murders, while 91 cases were recorded in 2008
