PM's wife closes down charity | NEWS.com.au
PRIME Minister Kevin Rudd's wife Therese Rein has shut down her charitable foundation because of concerns about potential conflicts of interest with her husband's political career.
Fairfax newspapers say Ms Rein quietly shut down the philanthropic Rein Foundation in May, concerned that it could develop projects that would ultimately require government endorsement or funding.
She had already offloaded the Australian arm of her lucrative business, Ingeus, to ensure there were no conflicts for Mr Rudd if she were to bid for government job service contracts.
